Are you excited? I'm excited. You are? Fantastic, that makes two of us.
Welcome to the all-new online home of the Lethbridge Public Interest Research Group! Here you'll be able to find info on upcoming events in our community, how to apply for funding or form a working group, and what your elected representatives on the LPIRG board are up to. My name is Cody Sharpe and I'll likely be the person you'll hear from the most on this website, so allow me to introduce myself.
I'm a 4th year Political Science major. My primary interest within my major is environmental policy, specifically as it pertains to the control, distribution and sale of water. I occasionally get distracted by international relations and lately I've taken a real interest in the politics of the Middle East. I'm also in love with sociology, especially in the context of mass media and communications. I've been the President of the Political Science Association here on campus and I'm currently a volunteer programmer at CKXU, Lethbridge's best radio station (and your campus station). There I help with FYI, the Monday morning news program, and run my own heavy metal show, The Early Morning Hot Pot o'Rock (Wednesdays at 9AM, in case you were wondering).
Over the next few days I'll be making several posts and updates to this new site, such as an LPIRG FAQ, a listing of our upcoming workshops and film screenings, and so on. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to post them here or send me an email at cody.sharpe(at)gmail.com.
