Congratulations to the Student Action Collective (LPIRG's newest Working Group) on their "Take Action on Poverty" events last week. 140 students/staff/faculty participated in the Stand-Up, Take Action Against Poverty event and over $150 was raised to go towards Bridges of Hope and the Lethbridge Native Women's Transition Home. Further action was taken in the form of 30 letters written to the federal
government on international aid, 8 postcards sent to the provincial
government supporting community organizations, and 53 people signed the
petition in support of the Lethbridge Native Women's Transition Home.
